I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and young adults most, and am a strong ally of the LGBTQIA community. I work really well with anxiety, depression, ptsd, behavioral problems in young children, and existential issues.
I am a strong believer in the therapeutic relationship. Seeing someone who unconditionally accepts you and helps you sort out the chaos of life can be a very healing process. As a therapist, I do not necessarily see myself as a "healer," but someone who helps my patients explore and find their own answers while still using evidence-based practices.
Additionally, I believe in authenticity and connection being foundational pillars of the therapeutic process. As such, there are some thing about me that may be worth knowing.
First off, I am a progressive secular humanist who believes that we make our meaning in life. I will likely cuss in session (but I will filter that out if it is offensive to you, or if I am working with children and families where it is not allowed). I will always be fidgeting with something while we talk. I may be a few minutes late because I had to change my toddler's poopy diaper, or because the line at Starbucks or Braum's took a few minutes longer than I had planned for. If any of these are a turn-off to you, or make you think we may not connect, we can talk about that or I will gladly help you find someone who may be a better fit.
If you are someone who knows what you want to talk about and just needs help untangling thoughts, or if you are someone who needs help but doesn't know where to start, I believe I can help! Please don't hesitate to reach out! We can discuss treatment options and see if we are a good fit.
