Is therapy right for you?
If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, or any other form of mental illness, therapy is a great choice. Therapy is an effective, non-invasive treatment option that has a substantial amount of evidence supporting its efficacy. Even if you do not struggle with mental illness, therapy can be an option to discuss the stressors of life, learn healthy coping mechanisms, or provide a sounding board that may be lacking in your present social circles. Therapy can be short term or long; it can be "by the book," and have strong guiding principles and exercises, or it can be non-directive and you explore what you feel you need to explore.
